Paddlesport Start Performance Award - 1-3 star
The Paddlesport Start Award is a structures programme of sessions in line with the British Canoe Union Syllabus.
BCU One Star is a flat water award. This award is an introduction to the sport that introduces basic boat control.
BCU Two Star is an improvement award. This award is about developing the skills required to paddle effectively on flat water. It is encouraged that padddlers will 'have a go' in a number of different types of boats. This will allow the user to experiment and transfer skills across from the different crafts, meaning a more exciting learning experience!
BCU Three Star level indicates that a candidate can consider themselves an intermediate paddler rather than a beginner.
